What is a Chiropodist / Podiatrist
There is no difference between a chiropodist and a podiatrist. Podiatrist is the term used for chiropodists in other English speaking countries.
A Podiatrist deals with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the lower limb and they are qualified to treat people with arthritis, diabetes, biomechanical and gait problems and sports injuries. They are also qualified to undertake nail surgery.
A Podiatrist treats people of all ages and plays a particularly important role in helping older people to stay mobile and, therefore, independent.
